CARILLION HAS entered a five year partnership with contract catering company Elior to ensure retail catering for both visitors and staff at the Royal London and St Bartholomew’s hospitals is of the highest standard. The new partnership brings together Elior’s fresh approach to retail catering with Carillion’s experience of providing services in hospitals.
The new service was launched at Barts Health NHS Trust earlier this month and includes a high street food retail offering, Grab and Go outlets, sit down meal facilities and a wider range of choice including locally sourced, seasonal, fair trade options. There is also a focus to further promote health and wellbeing to customers by including a number of healthy options.
Mike Hobbs, managing director of Carillion Health comments: “We are delighted to begin our new relationship with Elior who will be working in partnership with us to provide hospital staff and visitors with food options that are similar to those available in many of our high streets.
“The food quality, variety and service people receive have long been recognised as having a high impact on patient and visitor experience and our new partnership provides us with the opportunity to create a new benchmark that others will aspire to achieve”.
Robin Givens, sales director at Elior UK adds: “We bring a passion for food and service to our clients and are very excited to work with Carillion to transform patient and visitor dining and catering facilities. Our approach focuses on healthy eating and accommodates dietary and cultural preference whilst also improving the speed of service as well as dining preferences”.
Improved catering facilities are just one of the ways Carillion is driving excellence across its service contracts along with its sustainability and patient experience initiatives.
