RE-WORKED collects waste coffee grounds from offices around the UK and turns them in to furniture which can be used in the same offices.
The business, the brainchild of designer and expert in recycling technologies and materials development, Adam Fairweather, turns old coffee grounds into items such as furniture, jewellery and even, coffee machines.
Fairweather already has a potential supply chain of used coffee and clients. He helped develop the GreenCup scheme. This provides UK offices with Fairtrade coffee, then collects their waste coffee to turn it in to fertiliser.
Clients are already buying in to the company’s circular approach – Google uses GreenCup’s service and has already bought designer furniture from Re-Worked made with up to 60% used coffee grounds.
