A NEW report has found that consumers are more likely to buy from responsible businesses.
However, consumers aren’t clear about who is doing what, highlighting the need for businesses to get better at communicating their efforts.
The Sustainability Matters Report found that 90% of consumers are concerned about sustainability. ‘81% said they are likely to buy from a consumer brand with a positive approach to sustainability.’ And ‘nearly three-quarters of consumers (74%) say they would use a consumer brand that had adopted positive sustainability practices as a part of improving their own impact on the environment.’ Yet consumer confusion is rife, ‘with almost half of consumers (45%) unaware of any practices consumer brands have adopted to help encourage environmental sustainability.’
