Labour MP Mary Creagh is the new chair of the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC). Her appointment follows the departure of Huw Irranca-Davies.
Creagh, a former shadow environment secretary, is currently the party’s secretary for international development.
“Thrilled to be elected as chair of Parliament’s Environmental Audit Select Committee”, she tweeted.
The inquiries she will oversee include an assessment of EU and UK environmental policy and issues relating to diesel emissions and air quality.
