POOR WEATHER has meant that many families have turned to eating out as a way to help keep the kids entertained.
Figures released by the Greene King Leisure spend tracker has revealed that British households spent 11% more on eating out in July. This was paired with a 2% year-on-year increase in spend on out of home leisure.
However, while restaurants and food outlets benefitted from the disappointing weather, “drinking and other leisure” saw declines of 4%.
With the second half of August also a wash out, it is Footprint’s bet that eating out spend will also be up for August.
