We recently hosted a roundtable digging into the detail of plans for closer UK-EU regulatory alignment and the implications for the hospitality and foodservice sector. The topic of discussion is of paramount importance to the sector. Unfortunately, some that were due to attend the seminar were hindered by last week’s tube strikes. Given the critical nature of the topic, we have decided to open up the event to a wider audience. This ensures that as many businesses as possible can benefit from DWF’s legal insights and can take the necessary steps to prepare for realignment with EU rules. Register for this free-to-attend event below.
A plan to realign UK and EU food law across a range of policy areas marks another significant shift in the post-Brexit regulatory landscape. From stricter limits on additives and changes to how novel foods are approved, to tougher rules on food packaging and restrictions on plant-based food descriptions, the potential ramifications for businesses are many and varied.

During this latest Footprint Legal webinar in association with DWF, we will explore the implications of the UK-EU Common Understanding agreement and specifically the plan for the UK to align with EU Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) legislation.
During the session, DWF experts will guide us through:
- The legislation in scope of the agreement and what it means in practice for food businesses with respect to trade, policy and compliance;
- What businesses should be doing now to prepare for future realignment in areas like food labelling, nutrition and health claims, novel foods, food marketing, and packaging policy, including food contact materials linked to concerns around PFAS;
- The areas in which the UK may seek exemptions and how this might impact future policy in areas like food technology and animal welfare.
*Registration data will be processed by DWF for this webinar
