As Autumn descends, the judges are excited to announce those organisations and CPO’s in the running for trophies in the 2017 Triple Bottom Line Procurement Awards. These organisations are:
- Casual Dining Group
- Derbyshire County Council
- Harbour & Jones
- Le Pain Quotidien
- National Trust
- Rank Group
- The Restaurant Group
This announcement is made only a day after the CGA Prestige Foodservice Price Index revealed that inflation has grown by more than two percentage points from 7.0% in July to 9.3% in August. The perfect storm of soaring fish prices and double digit inflation on oils, fats, milk, cheese and eggs, against a backdrop of low exchange rates and high oil prices, shows the necessity for a new breed of CPO’s embracing change and adapting purchasing models for the long term benefit of stakeholders in their supply chain.
TBL recognises a new elite of procurement professionals; those that go beyond the immediate call of buying on price, quality and service and drive sustainable practice up and down value chains.
As David Read of Prestige Purchasing said: “When Footprint started the Triple Bottom Line Purchasing Awards three years ago, pressures were less acute than they are today. With an increase in the CGA Prestige Foodservice Price Index of 2 percentage points on last month, it is evident that we’re experiencing the highest year on year movement since the index began. It is evident that all of those organisations running for a Triple Bottom Line trophy are tailoring their responsible business agenda and it is precisely these organisations that are setting the standard for the rest of the industry to aspire to and work toward.”
The winners will be announced at the awards dinner 12th of October at the Haymarket Hotel, 1 Suffolk Place, London SW1Y 4HX. To book tickets and be part of the foodservice purchasing community’s success please email awards@tblprocure.com
