Since winning extra funding from the NUS Student’s Green Fund, the University of Sheffield’s Sheffield on a Plate project has been going from strength to strength.
Even more unwanted food and drink is now being sent to the ReFood anaerobic digestion plant which helps to produce fertiliser and electricity for Doncaster.
The scheme has now been introduced in all residences across the university. In fact, last month’s figures showed that ReFood had collected over 8.1 tonnes of food which would otherwise have been sent straight to landfill.
