2040. “By 2040 agriculture becomes the UK’s biggest share of emissions,” said Emma Pinchbeck, chief executive of the climate change committee. Dietary changes will be necessary, she added, but these are “not massive” and citizens are open to them.
65%. Tesco has met its target to increase the proportion of sales from healthier products to 65% by 2025. The supermarket chain achieved the goal at the end of last year, according to CEO Ken Murphy.
5%. Only 5% of consumers get the fibre they need, with most only consuming half of what they need, according to David Brandman, managing director at Bel UK&I.
15%. Ikea’s People and Planet Consumer Insights show that people under 30 are most likely to follow vegetarian or vegan diets, yet only 15% regularly eat plant-based meals. The chain serves 600 million consumers a year at its retail stores.
