Humber Seafood Summit launches 2013 event

DATES FOR the Humber Seafood Summit have been announced for 2013.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Organised by Seafish and the Humber Seafood Group, the two-day Summit will take place on the 18th and 19th September and will focus on tackling the issues of reputation and integrity in the industry.

 

The annual event is funded by Seafish and organised by members of the Humber Seafood Group, which represents many of the major seafood companies based in the region – home to the main seafood cluster in the UK.
 

A panel of respected industry and government speakers are expected to attend address delegates at this year’s event, which will discuss issues around fish authenticity, certification, the future of fisheries and the opportunities and challenges faced by the industy.

 
Paul Williams, CEO of Seafish commented: “The Humber Seafood Summit is a crucial event in the annual calendar for the Grimsby area, which is home to the biggest seafood cluster in the UK. The cluster’s importance to the fishing industry has been further validated by the announcement that the World Seafood Congress has selected Grimsby to host the 2014 event.”  

 

A special screening of Seafish’s ‘The Business of Fishing’ film will launch the events, followed by a networking evening.
