Sodexo, a leading provider of on-site service solutions, has launched the Better Tomorrow Plan (BTP) App. Available free to download from the App store the interactive application has been developed to provide tips on how people can lead a more sustainable lifestyle.
In 2009 Sodexo launched its Better Tomorrow Plan, its sustainability strategy to 2020, the new app provides useful tools for people wanting to lead a better life, fronted by former England rugby player and Sodexo Ambassador for health and wellbeing, Matt Dawson, the app offers seasonal and sustainable recipes as well as tips to reduce environmental impact, maintain a healthy lifestyle and contribute to local communities, all of which are areas covered by Sodexos Better Tomorrow Plan.
After watching an introduction video from Matt Dawson users can then choose any of the nine sections all of which are inter-linked. Sections include healthy living with links to seasonal recipes, fish recipes and even a pedometer to help users get more active. Information is available on sustainable fish, seasonal produce, carbon footprint, water usage and waste all with either recipes or top tips on what people can do to be healthier or greener.
The app has been developed to provide users with What can I do actions or for them to find out what Sodexo is doing in these areas. Users are also given the opportunity to donate to Sodexos STOP Hunger campaign which supports charitable organisations that provides food to those in need; promote health and wellbeing and deliver basic life skills training.
Thomas Jelley, corporate citizenship manager at Sodexo says: This is an exciting step for the Better Tomorrow Plan, we hope to reach a much wider audience with the app, providing them with useful information and tips on how they can make a difference. The app helps us engage with our employees, customers and clients in a much more personal manner as we are helping them to lead a better life using resources that we are using as a business.
