Tim Oliver is Head of Biodiversity and Supply Chain Assurance at food, drink and agriculture sustainability experts AB Sustain.
AB Sustain is the sustainable supply chain solutions business within AB Agri Ltd, the agriculture group of Associated British Foods Plc. AB Sustain works closely with commercial businesses and non-commercial organisations to develop and deliver bespoke programmes to address issues in agri-based supply chains. Experienced specialists work in each competency, including supply chain management, greenhouse gas modelling, biodiversity and animal welfare.
Tim has a production management and purchasing background and has worked in the agricultural supply sector since 1979. He has held various senior management roles in the industry.
Tim has worked closely with the UK feed industry in the development of its assurance programmes, with a particular focus on ensuring the safety of feed ingredients. He is a member of several feed industry working groups at both UK and EU level and represents AB Agri Ltd in the Roundtable for Sustainable Soya. Tim is a certificated lead assessor, with qualifications and experience in the application of HACCP to various industries, and has undertaken audits in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.
As a consultant, Tim has provided training and expertise to the commercial sector and official agencies in several countries and through the Food & Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO). Since 2006, the focus of Tims assurance work has included the development and management of sustainable procurement programmes.
