SODEXO HAS enhanced its membership of Sedex, the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, to improve supply chain transparency and ensure its ethical and sustainable standards are being met.
Sedex, a supply chain management tool, helps companies to identify, manage and mitigate ethical risks in global supply chains. It enables members, using a secure online platform, to share and manage information about their business practice in four key areas labour standards, health and safety, the environment and business ethics.
It will enable Sodexo to improve transparency throughout its supply chain, effectively monitor standards at supplier sites and help drive improvements where necessary.
Sodexo already has a supplier code of conduct setting out its expectations of those it does business with. However, commercial director Michelle Hanson said the company needs to go further if it is to meet the ambitious targets set out in its Better Tomorrow Plan.
