As an environment journalist with 30 years’ experience, the recipient of this year’s Special Achievement Award has covered virtually every issue in food sustainability. His powerful and revealing book The End of The Line and the award-winning documentary film that it inspired, brought the problems of overfishing and its impacts into public focus. He is Executive Director of Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE), an innovative marine conservation charity founded in 2010. He was Environment Editor of The Daily Telegraph for 20 years and a columnist for the Sunday Times. He also co-founded Fish2Fork, a sustainable fish restaurant website and news channel about the oceans.
